Rechargeable alternative wheelchair cushion
Model number: HF2002
The Portable dynamic APP cushion is a high quality and affordable pressure relief seat cushion system that provides better comfort to those who are in the seating position oftenand long. It helps to reduce the pressure by distributing the pressure over a wider contact area and helps capillary blood flow for pressure ulcer prevention.
OPERATION
• Mute
When an alarm occurs, the pump will give BEEP tones to inform the user of the alarm, or when the operation keys are pressed, a confirming BEEP tone will also be heard. However, the user may silent the BEEP tone by pressing the Mute Key (5). The Mute mode will be disabled if the Mute Key (5) is pressed again.
• Charge the battery
Step 1 > Connect the adaptor output connector to the adaptor inlet.
Step 2 > Plug the adaptor to an in wall AC outlet.
Step 3 > LED 6a lights up -> charging starts
Step 4 > LED 6a is lighting constantly - charging battery is still busy
Step 5 > LED 6a goes out, if the battery is fully charged again.
Step 6 > After charging the battery, be sure to disconnect the adaptor from the pump before unplugging the adaptor from the AC outlet. Disconnection in reverse order may cause severe unexpected damages to the pump.
(!!! The length of each step depends on the residual capacity of the battery !!!)
REMARK!
1.Be sure to charge the battery full before use for the first time.
2.Charge the battery when the battery capacity is too low. (the LOW BATTERY LED (red) blinks)
3.The cushion will not operate if the battery is not properly installed.
4.It is normal that the battery gets warmer both after charging and in use.
5.It is strongly recommended to use only the batteries provided by the manufacture for the Opal pump. Use of other batteries may cause serious unexpected hazards.
Cleaning
In this section, we describe the procedures to clean and decontaminate the pump.
It is important to follow these procedures before using the system on patients.
The cleaning task is required at least once a week to maintain personal hygiene.
•Pump
-Whilst cleaning the pump may not be connected to the adaptor.
-Spray cleaning solution on a piece of cloth and clean the faceplate and the case with the cloth. Make sure all areas are clean (top and bottom, both sides). DO NOT allow excess cleaning solution on faceplate or control panel.
(If solution gets inside, damage will occur.) Allow surface to thoroughly dry after cleaning.
-After the pump is thoroughly cleaned and dried, switch the pump ON and test to see if it runs normally.
Unplug the pump and store it at an appropriate place.
•Cushion
-Brush off or wipe down all surfaces of the cover sheet with soap and water before wetting with any liquid disinfectant.
-Any obvious blood spots should be wet thoroughly with a 1:9 Hypochlorite solution
(1 part bleach to 9 parts water) and allow drying for at least 10 minutes. Then blot with a clean, damp cloth.
-Unzip the top cover from the cushion.
-Brush off or wipe down all surfaces with soap and water before applying any liquid.
-After removing all the air cells, the air pad base has to be sprayed down with the disinfectant, inside and outside.
Let it sit for the required incubation time and wipe down with a cloth.
-Repeat the process with the tubing set: spray, incubate and then wipe clean.
-The pump bag should be turned inside out and completely wiped down the outside of the bag with disinfectant.
-Allow the bag to thoroughly air dry. Once the inside is dry, turn it back: wipe down the outside of the bag with disinfectant.
-Drying of all the components have to be done in a SUNLESS area.
Handling and Storage
-Store the cushion in an appropriate place. (Storage temperature: -15°C - +50°C)
-Humidity: 10% - 90% non-condensing
Important: for long periods of time, disconnect batteries!!!
Maintenance
-For replacement, please contact your local agent or dealer.
-Make sure the cushion tubes are well connected.
-Check the pump and make sure the power indicator is off when the power is turned off.
